According to the police, he had a land dispute with one of his relatives that had intensified during the last two days. The police have registered a case and are probing into the murder.

Last month, another PTI leader was shot dead over an old enmity in Kalas locality of Haripur. Tehsil council member Malik Haq Nawaz was buying groceries from a roadside stall when a car stopped and four men alighted, lined up, and opened fire with automatic weapons.
