Air China announces increase in flights for Pakistan

CPEC provides good opportunity for Air China to extend business in Pakistan, says Zhao Lijian

China's flag carrier airline, Air China, has announced increasing its flights for Pakistan on the Beijing-Islamabad-Karachi route.

The airline has decided to operate seven flight in a week from October 29, 2017. Ministerial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy Zhao Lijian in Islamabad said that the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has provided a good opportunity for Air China to extend its business in Pakistan.



In July this year, Thai Airways Pakistan announced the addition of a fifth flight to and from Islamabad from July 2, 2017. This additional flight between Islamabad and Bangkok has been added due to heavy public demand from loyal passengers and travel partners.

The addition of fifth flight will increase the already close contact between the two capital cities and not only increase outbound traffic to Asia and the wider world, but will also increase options for inbound traffic, especially from Thailand, China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and other destinations.



Prior to that, Thai Airways flew to three cities in Pakistan; Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with a total of 22 flights per week, including three weekly flights from Karachi to Muscat, a capital of Sultanate of Oman, it said.
