After 20 years, 60 teachers reinstated in Haripur

The reinstated people have been asked to report to their designated destinations to submit joining reports

HARIPUR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Education Department on Thursday issued letters of restoration to over 60 teachers of the district, after a 20-year battle ended with the decision of the Supreme Court in August this year.

The District Education Officer (DEO) Umer Kundi held a simple ceremony at his office inviting these teachers and some lower cadre staffers who were sacked in 1997 and reinstated in 2017 after a legal fight stretching across decades and governments.

The reinstated people were asked to report to their designated destinations to submit joining reports.

Kundi said Haripur was facing serious shortage of the teaching staff and the reinstated teachers would play their role in strengthening the education system.
