Terror bid in Multan foiled, two suspected terrorists killed
The terrorists were hiding near the Sher Shah area of the city
The counter-terrorism department (CTD) of Punjab police has thwarted an attempted terrorist attack in Multan and killed two suspected terrorists.
Acting on a tip-off, CTD officials carried out a raid in the Sher Shah area of the city in the early hours of Thursday.
Four to five suspected terrorists were hiding in a compound in the area who opened fire on the police after they were asked to turn themselves in.
In the ensuing firefight, two terrorists were killed, according to the CTD. A cache of hand grenades and explosives was seized from the premises.
According to reports, two or three terrorists managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.
