KARACHI: An ASI and a constable were suspended on Tuesday after a video of them assaulting a citizen in Karachi went viral, Express News reported.

On Monday, Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja ordered police officials involved in physically and verbally abusing a citizen to be suspended.

A citizen was beaten up by a police official part of a VIP protocol when he tried making a video of the protocol. The incident occurred on main Shahra-e-Faisal road, near Regent Plaza Hotel in Karachi.

The victim was making a video of the protocol while driving his car when an officer got off the police van, walked towards the victim's car, hurled abuses and beat him up for making the video. "How dare you make a video, your father is going in that car [tera baap ja raha hai]," the policeman can be heard saying in the video.

The man, however, did not stop following the protocol and continued making a video, following which the protocol stopped again and police officials approached him once more.

Taking notice of the incident, AD Khawaja ordered police personnel to be suspended from duty. "SP Security 1 Malik Ahsan has been appointed as inquiry officer to look into the matter," said spokesperson for central police office (CPO).

Nauman | 7 years ago | Reply I've seen people commenting on social media that the person was on the wrong side of the law as he was making an unsolicited video, and that was the reason the security guy got upset, and it's the same stance this article has taken here by quoting the security person, "How dare you make a video, your father is going in that car". This is totally incorrect. If you listen to the video carefully, the first sentence uttered by the security guy was "Why are you pushing in the car's bum [Gari ki * mein kio ghus raha hay], your father is going in that car [Tera baap ja raha hay]". So for all those law abiding ignorant, who think the guy making the video was wrong, please do listen and think. Its a normal routine of these security personnel, either be Rangers or Police. I use to live next to a Rangers Headquarter established on occupied land of a Uni Hostel. Every time some officers of there had to go out, these guys used to block and secure the whole area. I mean seriously, if you guys are so afraid for your own selves then why did you chose to serve the country as a guard for the people of the same country.

They are the sins of our acts. Because the citizens of big city ,and mainly educated one avoid to cast their votes,and only cry that there is no good for people. The results of every elections shows that only 26 to 30 percent vote casted in urban areas . And it is less than this percentage, but the credibility of an election only made by showing 26/30 percent vote casting. Because it is a condition of constitution of Pakistan.
