The total number of PhDs from UAF rose to 1,587. A spokesman of the university said that on the recommendations of external examiners and after fulfilling all the requirements, the UAF vice-chancellor issued directives to issue PhD degrees to six scholars who passed their final examination in 2017.

The scholars included Faizul Hassan Shah from the National Institute of Food Science and Technology, Zeeshan Aslam from the Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences, Zulqurnain Khan from the Centre of Agricultural Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Ghulam Abbas from the Institute of Animal and Dairy Sciences, Asma Irshad from the Department of Biochemistry and Ummara Batool from the Department of Zoology.
