Accused brought electrical items illegally from Dubai

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested five accused and seized huge quantity of electrical appliances worth millions of rupees during special checking at Sialkot International Airport on Monday.

FIA Divisional Deputy Director Khalid Anees said that the FIA Immigration officials arrested five men identified as Muhammad Aslam, Altaf Hussain, Muhammad Jameel, Muhammad Naveed and Syed Rashid Ali soon after their arrival at the airport from Dubai. The accused were carrying 12 gateway electrical devices, 28 laptops, 25 inter-core processors, 200 mobile boxes without mobile kits, 1,475 eye-lenses, 25 eye-lense cleaners, one PC, 88 different mobile phones and 15 tablet phones.

Two young men were killed when a car hit a tree near Sodhara on Sambrial-Wazirabad Road.

Rescue 1122 officials said five friends were travelling in a car to Sambrial when their vehicle crashed into a tree. As a result, 22-year-old Ahsan and Amir, 26, died on the spot, while Zeeshan, Numan, and Qaisar were injured.

Meanwhile, the police arrested 11 people from various parts of the district for violating the ban on pillion riding during Ashura. Those who were arrested included Zafar Ali, Naveed, Ibrar, Asad, Mohsin, Atif, Khurram, Shah Nawaz, Jabbar, Saneel Masieh and Asad. Cases were registered against the accused.
