NIH officials march to raise awareness about rabies

ISLAMABAD: Doctors at the National Institute of Health (NIH) on Thursday marched to raise awareness about human and animal rabies and to emphasise control and prevention.

The walk had been organised to mark World Rabies Day on the theme of “Zero Rabies by 2030”.

World Health Organisation (WHO) said that rabies was a neglected disease in Pakistan, with the incidence of dog bites very high.

The NIH Executive Director Brig Dr Aamer Ikram, along with students of the College of Medical Laboratories Technology, fellows of Field Epidemiology Laboratory Training Programme participated in the walk.
