Two security personnel injured in Lower Kurram IED blasts

Incident took place around 1.5 kilometres away from the Durand Line

PESHAWAR: Two security personnel suffered minor injuries when their vehicle was targeted using two improvised explosive devices (IED) in Lower Kurram Agency.

A security official said the vehicle was carrying supplies for a check-post in Kurram Agency. The roadside bombs went off in the Shorko area.

Another vehicle, which was behind the first one, was targeted with a

timer-equipped device hidden in the rutted pathway.

The official said the place where the incident took place was around 1.5 kilometres away from the Durand Line.

A few days ago,  two customs officials were injured when a remote-controlled bomb, targeting their vehicle, went off near the Pak-Afghan highway in Khyber Agency.

An official of the political administration told The Express Tribune that the injured men were part of the customs office and were on their way to Torkham from Peshawar to perform their duties.
