K-P top cop says every district important during Muharram
Pakistan Army, Frontier Constabulary and other law enforcing agencies will support police in the province
PESHAWAR:
K-P Inspector General Police Salahuddin Khan Mehsud said on Thursday that due importance is being given to all districts of the province and more than 30,000 policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order during Muharram.
He was speaking to the talking to media persons at DIG Office Mardan after presiding over a meeting held to discuss security in Mardan and Nowshera districts during Muharram.
RPO Mardan Muhammad Alam Shinwari, DPO Mardan Dr Mian Saeed Ahmad and DPO Nowshera Hafiz Wahid Mehmood were also present on this occasion.
The top cop of the K-P said Pakistan Army, Frontier Constabulary and other law enforcing agencies would police support police during these days. According to Mehsud terrorism incidents had been dwindled down more than 70 per cent for the last few years.
He further informed that control rooms have been established in all district of the province for monitoring Muharram precessions.
He said that stringent security measures are being adopted at entry and exit points of all Imambargahs.
He informed that joint operations are being carried out in southern districts and Peshawar valley adding that out of three terrorists killed in D. I Khan in a clash with law enforcing agencies, one was with the head money of Rs1 million.
