Talking to the media after an event in Karachi on Tuesday, Siyal referred to Hussain’s anti-Pakistan remarks in August 2016 and said: “He has never ever been patriotic to Pakistan and always hatched conspiracies against the country.”
He said: “A traitor must be hanged. Sindh government is ready to hang him [Hussain] if permitted by the federal government.”
The home minister, who belongs to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), appreciated the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army, paramilitary Rangers and the police in the war against terrorism. “The war will continue till its logical end with the destruction of terrorist hideouts.”

Giving credit to the provincial government for containing the law and order in Karachi, the minister said they were determined to make Karachi the city of lights again. “I’m proud to say there is no kidnapping case here and we have controlled extortion and targeted killings in the city and other districts of Sindh.”
When his attention was drawn towards street crimes, he said, “I will look into the matter,” adding that he would enquire about the issue it from the inspector general of police who had recently been made independent by court.
The minister refuted the reports whether provincial government was recruiting people in various departments in violation of merit.
“We have handed over the appointment process to independent bodies. The people are given jobs through IBA and NTS test,” he said, adding that the Sindh Public Service Commission conducts the exams for grade 17 and above positions.

Responding to a question about PPP performance, he said it was Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who made Pakistan an atomic power and gave it the Constitution.
He criticising the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and said it made false promises to the people. “I want to ask why the PML-N government has failed to overcome energy crises as promised before the general election,” he said.
The minister also criticised former military ruler Pervez Musharraf on his statement that Asif Zardari hatched conspiracy to kill Benazir Bhutto. “He was the president of Pakistan when Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. Why did he keep mum on the issue at that time?”
He added the PPP had filed a petition against the anti-terrorism court’s verdict in the Benazir murder case.
He invited PTI chief Imran Khan and other party leaders to come to Sindh and see for themselves the performance of the provincial government.
