One problem that all iPhone users face is not having enough space on their device. At times, they are not even able to download latest apps because their smartphone has run out of storage – often forcing them to delete many if not all of their pictures and videos, sometimes without backing them up.

Luckily, with iOS 11, Apple has introduced a handy feature that makes clearing out your device simpler.

Follow these basic steps if you are facing the same issue.

The first and most obvious step is to download iOS 11. Mind you, the download consists of a 1.9GB file; so you may have to remove a lot of stuff to download it.

Once you have downloaded the new OS, navigate to Settings > General > iPhone Storage where you will find exactly how much space is being taken up by all the media on your phone: Apps, Photos, Media (songs and videos), and everything else.

Once you enable the ‘Offload Unused Apps’ feature, your iPhone will give you recommendations regarding which apps you can remove based on the frequency of app usage. Under the recommendations, you will see a list of your apps and how much space each one is taking up which you can individually edit and delete.

However, removing the apps with offload feature will not delete the app data, so you will still be able to access all your precious data.

Clearing up storage space won't take you more than five minutes, but it will be a lifesaver when you want to download the latest trending app.

Make sure you give this a try.
