Saaf Paani: Govt project to improve public health, says MPA

Punjab government has evolved a splendid programme worth billions of rupees

LAHORE: The Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme is a revolutionary project, which will improve the public health in the province, particularly in south Punjab.

This was stated by MPA Qazi Adnan Farid, a member of various standing committees, including Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Punjab Assembly, and member Board of Governors, "Saaf Pani Programme".

He said that the Punjab government had evolved a splendid programme worth billions of rupees for provision of clean drinking water in south Punjab.

He added that getting clean drinking water is a basic right of every citizen. "The Punjab government had recommended allocation of Rs25 billion for the Saaf Pani Project in the 2017-18 budget," he said.

Farid said that chlorination process at tube-wells would be a responsibility of the deputy commissioner in each district.
