The pictures are from July this year but only surfaced on the internet late Thursday night and members of the Pakistani showbiz industry have made it a point to stand with the Bol star. With some of them directing their opinions to the vast public and others taking a comedic stance, they all have one message to share.
Superstar Ali Zafar was the first to bash the haters as he posted a picture of a hand-written note on his Twitter page:

"Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life (as long as she's not hurting anyone else) just like we men do.
How we react defines our own character. Choose wisely, for we shall be judged!" he wrote.
As the pictures of Mahira and Ranbir made people comment on Mahira's morals, it also created rumours of the two actors dating. Not just that, many also speculated about the mark on her back.
Mann Mayal star Hamza Ali Abbasi took to Facebook to put a stop to assumptions - and thank God for that!

Next, it was Osman Khalid Butt. However, he took a different approach to speak up for Mahira, highlighting the society's double standards:

We must say, he's doing a great job at looking as pretty as our Mahira.
Indian stand-up comedian Daniel Fernandes also made it a point to come to the starlet's defence:

Daniel's post was directed towards men, basically telling them to respect the choices that women make and mind their own business. "Good boy! Now sit down," he says.
Ranbir Kapoor's father, Rishi Kapoor had something to say too: "You see, Ranbir is a young star, he is unmarried, he's a bachelor. He can meet anybody he wants and if people are going to invade his privacy, it's not done. I can't say anything about all this because he's a young man and he has the choice of meeting any girl," reported Hindustan Times.
He continued, "How do we know that here's something more to this picture? He could have met her just outside there. They must have been in a restaurant or a place where they cannot smoke, that's why they are smoking outside. In the US, they have really strict rules that don't allow smoking in public places. I can't say anything more because I don't know anything more than that."
Explanations or not, we don't think Mahira has anything to worry about.
