PPP women wing holds protest against Imran, Musharraf

Protesters included lawmakers, members of party's youth wing

KARACHI: A large number of female members and leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) protested against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan and former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for their remarks against the party’s co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. The protest, held on Friday, was organised by the PPP women wing, Karachi division and was attended by lawmakers and activists of the party.

MNA Shagufta Jumani, Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, MNA Shahida Rehmani, and MPAs including Sharmila Faruqui and Rehana Legharim as well as representatives of the party’s youth wing attended the event.

They chanted slogans against Imran, calling him ‘Mr Niazi’, suggesting he visit a psychiatrist.

Meanwhile, the participants also criticised General (retd) Musharraf for accusing Zardari of being responsible for the murder of slain party leader Benazir Bhutto. They said General (retd) Musharraf was involved in Benazir’s killing and must be hanged.

The PPP youth wing also attended the protested and convened a rally in this connection.
