Speedy justice: courts in Okara divided in different categories

Under the plan, judgments would be written in light cream colour

OKARA: In a bid to speed up the process of case hearings and proceedings, the district and sessions judge has divided all the 24 courts at Okara district headquarter into different categories.

The action was taken by District and Sessions Judge Bedar Bakht on Thursday. He said that criminal cases would now be heard at the sessions court, while the murder case proceedings would be taken by the specialised courts, comprising additional session judges. The judges will include Muhammad Mushtaq, Hafiz Rizwan Aziz and Nouman Muhammad Naeem.

The specialised cases of drugs proceedings would be held in the court of ASJ Anjum Mumtaz Malik, whereas two courts had been specified for appellate work, comprising ASJs Mumtaz Ahmad Dogar and Raheela Umar, he maintained.

Bedar Bakht pointed out that hearing of government cases would be held at two courts comprising of First Class Civil Judges Zaheer Ahmad and Sarwar Ali. He said Wapda related cases would be taken up by Civil Judge Rafiq, while four Civil Judges, including Muzaffar Hussain Mughal, Azhar Farid Chishti, Asif Nawaz and Naveeda Kanwal will hear regular civil cases.

Bakht Bedar said that under the new management plan of the cases, the daily audit sheets and judgments would be written in light cream colour or on light yellow papers.

He said all the courts had also been allotted numbers, while the judges had been instructed to wear special gown during court proceedings. He said the court staff would wear special uniform as directed by the Lahore High Court.
