PESHAWAR: Terming the youth as ‘soft targets’ the head of a key educational institution in the provincial capital has called for engaging the youth to lure them towards positive and constructive activities lest they get drawn towards extremism.

This was stated by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Arshad Javid while addressing a seminar to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the HEC.

He said that it was a matter of pride for all that HEC had managed to increase the number of higher education institutions in the country from just 59 to 188 in the past 15 years which have produced over 12,000 doctorates in philosophy.  The KMU vice chancellor pointed out that the youth are our asset and nations can achieve higher goals with the participation and involvement of youth through various constructive programmes.
