Two alleged hardcore militants of a banned sectarian outfit were arrested by the CTD during a raid conducted on a tip-off at Bandhani Colony in Liaquatabad. The suspects were identified as Abdullah son of Majid Jamil and Adnan Ahmed son of Ahmed Ali. CTD officials also claimed to have recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
CTD, Rangers arrest 15 suspects during raids
CTD Investigations Incharge Chaudhry Safdar said that the suspects arrested belonged to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and there were reports that they were allegedly plotting terror activities to target a rival sect during Muharramul Haram. During the initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to being involvement in various murders, including targeting rival sectarian group's members and had plans to target more people belonging from that sect, said Safdar. A case against the suspects has been registered, while further investigation is underway, he added.
Separately, Rangers claimed to have arrested ten suspects during ongoing targeted raids in different parts of a city. Four suspects, identified as Ikram Zada, Zameen, Khurram Zaman and Habib Zada were arrested during a raid conducted in Khawaja Ajmair Nagri area. The suspects were allegedly involved in various cases of drugs peddling.

Six more suspects were apprehended during ongoing targeted raids conducted in Korangi, Saudabad, and Docks. The suspects were identified as Tariq Aziz, Asif Bhatti, Waqar, Faizan, Babar Ismail and Syed Monis. The Rangers spokesperson said that the suspects were involved in various cases of crime and weapons, as well as narcotics, were seized from their possession. The suspects were later handed over to the police.
