Baseball: Afghanistan down Nepal

Afghanistan registers a 19-11 victory over Nepal in the 1st Saarc Baseball Cup.

Afghanistan registered a 19-11 victory over Nepal in the 1st Saarc Baseball Cup being held at the Punjab Stadium. Both teams started their innings aggressively with Afghanistan’s Mohammed Tahir and Mohammed Alam scoring one run each.

Nepal, however, took the lead, scoring four runs through Rajesh, Gowinda, Sandeep and Aneel. Afghanistan batters bounced back in the second innings adding five more runs. Nepal’s humiliation continued as Afghanistan hammered 10 more runs through Samiullah, Fazal Malik, Nasir, Akhtar, Tahir, Alam, Mohammed Sami and Abdul Rehman. The match was decided after Sher Jan added a run to Afghanistan’s tally.
