Veteran Bollywood actor and director Rishi Kapoor revealed on Monday the extent of damages caused by the inferno that broke out at his family’s RK Studios in Mumbai on September 16, according to Scroll.in.

In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror tabloid, Kapoor said the stage where Raj Kapoor’s iconic films, such as AwaaraShree 420Mera Naam Joker and Ram Teri Ganga Maili, had been shot were destroyed.

The Mera Naam Joker mask and costumes worn by heroines in RK Studios’ productions, from Awaara (Nargis) to Aa Ab Laut Chalen (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), jewellery worn by Padmini in Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai and props such as spears and sabres were all incinerated.

“This is probably why they say that one should never put all eggs in one basket,” the famous actor told the tabloid. “But for us, this was our father’s legacy and it was a treasure trove.”

Kapoor also took to Twitter to express his feelings about the unfortunate inferno.
