He said UVAS was playing a vital role in the development of livestock, dairy, poultry and related sectors through its trained manpower for the enhancing of milk and meat production and developing economy of Pakistan.
UVAS finds partner to boost quality
Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani along with UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha visited UVAS, Ravi Campus Pattoki. They visited various departments of the campus including Central Laboratory Complex (CLC), Livestock Research and Training Centre, Dairy Animal Training and Research Center, Milking Parlor and Information Technology Center.
The minister also planted a sapling in front of Central Laboratory Complex (CLC) and met with UVAS students.
Earlier in his presentation, Vice-Chancellor Dr Pasha briefed the minister on the UVAS academic, research, extension & dairy advisory services, clinical and disease diagnostic facilities, development projects regarding Livestock Technology Park, training centre for Biologics Production, various training programmes, national and international linkages etc.

He said UVAS was establishing a training centre for biologics production to prevent deadly hemorrhagic septicemia (HS) and foot and mouth disease (FMD). Dr Pasha said Pakistan was blessed with the best dairy buffalo breeds in the world and the university was focusing on the genetic improvement of this animal.
He said UVAS was actively working on research and all laboratories were equipped with latest technology and highly trained human resource to provide the best training to university students and treat the poor farming community with latest clinical facilities.
