Two outlaws nabbed after shootout
FAISALABAD:
A youth was shot dead over a property dispute in the limits of Mureedwala police on Friday.
Police said that Mahmood, 20, a resident of Chak No 199-JB, had an old property dispute with Sajan of the same village. On the day of the incident, both had an argument over the issue.
Man who killed two over property dispute executed
In a fit of rage, accused Sajan opened fire at Mahmood and fled the scene. As a result, Mahmood was killed on the spot. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, three people lost their lives in different road accidents. The police said Hasnat, 45, a resident of Chak No 384-GB, and his wife Zainab were travelling on a motorcycle when a speedy van hit them near Rodala. As a result, Hasnat died on the spot while his wife suffered injuries. She was shifted to Allied Hospital for treatment.
In yet another accident, Muhammad Ahmad and Nasir were riding a motorcycle when a rashly driven bus hit their two-wheeler on Jhumra Road. As a result, Mohammad Ahmad was killed on the spot, while Nasir was injured.
Property dispute: Fight over plot lands in troubled waters
In another incident, 70-year-old Siddiq was crushed to death by a train while he was crossing railway lines near Abdullah Pur Bridge. Two alleged robbers were arrested after an encounter in the limits of Gulberg police.
An official said a police team signaled two outlaws to stop but they opened fire on the policemen. The police retaliated and managed to arrest two accused and seized weapons from them.
The district police claimed to have arrested 54 criminals, including 10 proclaimed offenders during raids in different areas. The police also confiscated seven pistols, a revolver and six kilogrammes of hashish from their custody.
