Hunza affectees surround official convoy

HUNZA: Attabad lake affectees surrounded federal ministers’ convoy in protest as the ministers were about to board the helicopters.

Protestors surrounded vehicles of federal ministers including Water and Power Minister Raja Pervaiz Asharf and federal Information Minister Qamar u Zaman Kaira when they were at the helipad one kilometere away from Karimabad, the main town in the Hunza valley.

Angry protestors chanted slogans and said the government had failed to make appropriate relief efforts.

The protesters also expressed their dissatisfaction over Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s statement and said immediate compensation should be made to them.

Abdul Hamid Khan | 14 years ago | Reply This is not first time; citing the bitter experience of 2005 in POK earthquake where misuse and abuse of billions of aid by Monstrous Military and govt. of Pakistan & not to forget the plight of poor women in the hands of inhuman Military/ Govt. officials , result of which is still seen in brothels of Pakistan. This Military Mafia led many Kashimiri girls into forced prostitution .The people of this region are witnessing Disastrous Pakistani regime’s apathy towards the human beings. This was the criminal negligence of government of Pakistan towards to Attabad, Hunza's newly born natural lake effected people. The colonial owner of the area and its Military intentionally let the lake to eliminate the whole area up to Shehnaki Kohistan, otherwise a local contractor could have burst the lake much earlier, if he had been given contract since January 2010.This is very mentally torturous situation for the people of this land as they die hundred deaths daily to see their life time saving in land, agriculture , livestock &houses diminishing daily . This terror is affecting their courage and fear of exploding of that vast water reserve is mentally very terrorising for them. The much publicized Benazir Langar (a traditional kitchen for beggars in Pakistan) on the name of Late Benazir, and whatever money is planned for spending on kitchen has not been released from Benazir Bank account, hence it is just their political showoff by Pakistani govt. to make foo the world community, that they are helping ; but its null and non existent. The Langar is actually to disgrace the tradition of local people and to seek sympathy from international forums. Neither the people of Hunza or Gilgit Baltistan need any alms from a dead person like Benazir nor she has donated anything personally for this area and its population in her life time. We are afraid that government of Pakistan will use this misery of this region to seek monetary help from International community and most of that aid will be go in to the pockets of Pakistan Amry, then Zardari group and their puppets in the area ,thus nothing will be given to the suffering people. We humbly request to the international community to give aid directly to the effected people not through the corrupt Disaster Management Mafia of Pakistan Military and civil regime of Pakistan, if the world community really wants to help the people. I also appeal to the people of Hunza and Gilgit Baltistan to keep their honor and dignity intact and shouldn’t believe on Pakistanis and their local puppets. We all know what they did in 2005 making fraudulent promises in name of help they sold hundreds of poor Kashmiri women into brothels .So please don’t let yourself fooled into ill-scheming hands of Pakistanis ( so called Military disastrous management mafia)and thus don’t handover your families and honour in their hand , its more courageous to die then to let your women exploited by them. Please be aware of those vultures who are roaming around you like Mehdi Shah and Co. to use this drastic situation to fulfill the evil designs of Pakistani Military and civil regime. I appreciate the courage and honor of the our sisters and mothers of Hunza on the occasion of this worst scenario of their life. God bless the people of Hunza and the whole Gilgit Baltistan and save from evil designs of the enemies of the land. I thank Mr. Ban-ki-Moon Secretary General of UN, for sending an expert for the assessment of the devastating water blockade in Hunza and its worst impact on the other areas along the river of Hunza, Gilgit and then finally Indus . I appeal to United nations and Environmentalists to please look into the matter of 4000 blasts done in Gindayi and Yasen of Gilgit and thousand other areas by Chinese copper mining companies which has resulted in this melting of great glaciers in this area and has completely disturbed the natural balance and ecosystem oft his part of world. When local people protested against these blasts and manifested against blasts of Chinese mining companies , instead of hearing them, Pakistani occupying regime arrested them , tortured them ,poisoned them and those 22 natives of Yasen, Gindaye are still trialed for manifesting against the crime done to their motherland. These grave errors and crime done in my motherland are worse then Nuclear weapons ; which only eradicate the humanity this blasts exploded the mountains and whole landscape of this beautiful land. The 2000 leases for mining precious metals have been given to foreign companies like Pakistani and Chinese companies by Pakistani colonial power, which themselves do not have any right on this land thus is totally illegal. Those foreign companies seem to be totally ignorant on environmental ill- consequences to this area and its neighboring world. I request UN and environmentalist s to intervene and seriously take up this nature’s exploitation as urgent issue as live example of this abuse is in front of them in form of Attabad, Hunza water dam. This unheard and unprecedented heavy rainfall and huge mountain slides are consequence of this human disturbance and interference led by Pakistan and China which people of this area are suffering. The impact as climate change, which the region is witnessing in the shape of mountain sliding and heavy rain due to the newly born natural water dam of only 25 KM long. If 7 mega dams of more than 100 KM each long will be built in this region as per Pakistani plan, then not only the geography and weather of Gilgit Baltistan but the whole Central Asia up to Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and even India and beyond South Asia will be completely changed.

We are going to become a second Wahabi-State in the world with primitive rituals and traditions of the Arabs. The demise of our country is very near. KNM demands the immediate permanent settlement program for the IDPs of Hunza and Gilgit. It is a joke with the people of Hunza to inaugurate the Benazir Langar at the relief camps for the calamity hit people.” It was stated by Manzoor Hussain Parwana Chairman Gilgit Baltistan United Movement in a press statement condemning the fruitless visit of Pakistan CM to Attaabad Hunza. Parwana said that the visit of CM rubbed salt into the wounds of the affectees so the people chanted slogan against the policies of government and shown unsatisfactory over the arrangement made by the administration for them. Parwana appealed international community to come forward to rescue the un-presented people of Gilgit Baltistan.
