Shehzad Town incident: Two-member inquiry committee formed

ISLAMABAD: Over a week after police commandos in the capital killed an elderly man and injured his friend in Shehzad Town, the Interior Minister has called for a judicial inquiry into the incident.

According to a notification issued by the Islamabad Capital Territory Chief Commissioner’s office on Tuesday, a two-member committee has been formed to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident. The chief commissioner has named Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Kamran Ali Cheema and Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Hassan Waqar Cheema as members of the committee.

The committee has been directed to complete its probe on all aspects of the case and submit a report within three days.
