Brothers hit by landmine as they were travelling on motorcycle in Kholu area

QUETTA: One person was killed while another sustained injuries after their motorbike ran over a planted landmine in Kholu district of Balochistan on Tuesday.

Sources said two brothers riding on their bike were hit by a landmine in the Nasau area.

The victims have been identified as Tangu, who was fatally injured, while Shah Dan got wounded.

Rescue workers rushed to the scene to transport the body of the deceased and provide medical aid to the injured.

Last week, a woman and her two children were killed when they stepped on a landmine in the district.

Following a protest by area residents, levies force lodged a case against unidentified persons and an investigation into the incident is underway.

Meanwhile, police and Frontier Corps officials recovered six hand grenades hidden in Qadirabad area of Naushki district.
