LAHORE:

A 100-member delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), comprising business tycoons and investors, will visit Tajikistan to explore investment avenues in different sectors, according to an industry leader.

FPCCI President Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, who will lead the delegation, said on Friday that the visit was aimed at exploring business opportunities in Tajikistan and highlighting the vast scope of investments and openings in Pakistan, besides enhancing people-to-people contacts.

In a meeting with Tajikistan Ambassador Dr Zubaydullo N Zubaydov, Ali said that the importance of trade and commerce had grown, and no country could ignore it.

The ambassador said that Tajikistan’s businessmen were looking forward to gaining benefits from know-how of Pakistani experts to boost their economy. “We are exporting aluminium, coal and dry fruits to Pakistan and importing a lot, but some lobbies are conspiring and giving an impression that both countries have no trade,” he asserted.
