PML-N wants action against Hamza Abbasi
Treasury MPA also submits resolution against harassment of K-P’s girl students

A resolution was submitted in the Punjab Assembly against actor Hamza Abbasi who allegedly disgraced the Pakistani passport in a TV programme.
PML-N MPA Hina Pervez Butt, who submitted the resolution, quoted him as saying, “No one from anywhere in the world is ready to take Pakistani citizenship. No one is ready to spit on the Pakistani passport.”

She stated only people who were anti-Pakistan could use such language for the country. She demanded the House bind PEMRA not to run such programmes which are against the country’s integrity.
She also demanded that Hamza should tender an apology over his remarks against the Pakistani passport as they had damaged the country’s image. She said everyone should respect Pakistan rather than commenting in such a manner.
Meanwhile, she also submitted another resolution, demanding that immediate notice be taken of the increasing number of incidents related to the harassment of female students in different educational institutions of Khyber-Pakhtunkwa (K-P).

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) legislator Hina Pervez Butt strongly condemned the increasing incidents of harassment, adding it was regrettable that no measures were being taken to stop them. She added that 100 cases were reported in seven months alone and this could not be tolerated. She demanded that the government start strict action against those responsible and steps be taken to provide a peaceful and safe atmosphere for girl students.
