Arjun Rampal is gearing up for the release of his next film based on the life of gangster Arun Gawli. The actor has turned writer and producer for Daddy and of course, is also acting in it.

According to Pinkvilla, Arjun’s film released on September 8. Recently, he gave an interview to a leading daily and spoke about his experience of serving as a writer and producer for Daddy. He also spoke about picking a grey character and said, “It happened by me just feeling ‘nothing.’ After watching a few films of mine, walking out of the cinema hall, I would wonder ‘what have I done? I don’t feel anything; there is no sense of satisfaction.’ There was no sense of joy or fulfillment or pride.”

Arjun believes these are the emotions on wants to feel when they are in the film industry. “You want to come out of the cinema hall after watching your film, and feel proud of yourself,” he continued. “I wanted to feel purely about my craft, not to become a megastar, but to be known as a good actor. I used to feel very superficial on that level, but the profession is much deeper, so I stopped looking at it superficially, and that’s how things started changing.”

The Om Shanti Om said that what attracted him to do Daddy was that it was not a one-dimensional role and that there were layers to the character. “I don’t like one dimensional roles, that’s the most boring thing to do. Anything one dimensional – storytelling, acting, anything that is too straight – I can’t walk that straight line,” Arjun added
