'Govt committed to providing high-quality healthcare'
He said that construction of hostels for doctors and nurses was required to start this institution on a war-footing basis as it would help retain trained human resource. He stated this while inaugurating the newly-installed laundry plant and boiler, built at a cost of Rs50 million.
Health Parliamentary Secretary Hassan Riaz Chaudhry, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice Chancellor Dr Fakhar Imam, Shahdara Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Shahid Farooq, Mayo Hospital MS Dr Tahir Khalil, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital MS Dr Sohail Rana, Government Shahdara Hospital former MS Dr Pervaiz Imtiaz, Patients Welfare Society members and a large number of doctors, nurses and notables of the area were present on this occasion.
'Incorporating technology in health care sector can save lives'
MS Dr Shahid Farooq said that a state-of-the-art dialysis unit was also part of the hospital where 24 dialysis machines were providing services to the patients. He disclosed that ten thousand gratis dialysis were performed during 2016 and added that government teaching hospital was providing best healthcare facilities to the people of Shahdara as well as adjoining areas.
