Indian actress Reem Sheikh, who is playing the lead role in Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai’s biopic ‘Gul Makai’, has unveiled the first poster of the movie on her Instagram.

The film, which has been produced by Anand Kumar, also features the late Om Puri, actress Divya Dutta, who is playing Malala’s mother, and Ragini Khanna.

'Gul Makai': Biopic on Malala Yousufzai in the works in India

Sheikh has previously worked in TV serials ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha’. She also starred in the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar-starrer ‘Wazir’.

Some parts of the film have already been shot in Bhuj and Mumbai in 2016, while remaining shooting will resume this month, according to Indian media.

Sheikh has been training hard to perfect her diction and mannerisms to accurately portray the young activist.

Sameer | 7 years ago | Reply Un-necessary biopic to keep Malala alive. She IS the next face of Pakistan Politics whether one wants it or not. The west wants to create a Benazir they can control. Now they have made an artificial one. I will continue to be skeptical of how she went from nothing to everything in no time at all.
