MUZZAFARABAD: A five-year-old girl was martyred on Saturday after she was hit in the head by a bullet fired by Indian troops in Kashmir.

The incident took place in Polas village at Abbaspur sector on the Line of Control (LoC). "A five-year-old girl was walking outside her house when a lone bullet fired by Indian troops pierced through her head," local government official Tahir Mumtaz said.

The girl was rushed to hospital but died on the way, he said, adding that villagers held a protest rally and condemned the firing on the day they were celebrating Eidul Azha.

Another government official Sardar Sajid confirmed the casualty.

In November, at least nine people were killed when Indian cross-border fire hit a passenger bus in the Neelum Valley, the same region where four Pakistani troops were allegedly killed.

Moni | 7 years ago | Reply It is obvious that to kill a 5 year old across >300 yds, with a single head shot, telescopic sights & sniper rifle would have been used. Also obvious is that the brutal Indian Armed Forces soldier and his officers must have known, that the target is a 5 year old baby, dressed for Eid, playing in her courtyard. Rest in Peace little angel. You were unfortunate to have born in a country whose heartless & shameless leadership is on holidays in England, possibly doing business with the same Indians.
