ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly has sent a reference against disgruntled PTI MNA Ayesha Gulalai to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

PTI had filed a reference against the MNA with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to de-seat her for violating party discipline.

Imran writes letter to NA speaker seeking Ayesha Gulalai's ouster from parliament

After analysing the reference, the Speaker has forwarded it to ECP for further action. ECP has issued notices to Gulalai and PTI for September 7 to appear before the commission and explain their positions.

Under the law, once a reference against a member of assembly is filed with the speaker of the respective assembly, he/she has to take a decision within 30 days. Either the speaker rejects it, or if he finds cogent reasons, he sends it to ECP for further action. Once received, ECP has to decide the case within 90 days.

Ghual Mujtaba | 7 years ago | Reply This story of Aysha and her described immoral accusations against PTI chairman and other PTI leaders shows a filthy and soured morality that our politician community has .Take it as presentation of political elite's thinking and the depth of moral bankruptcy. At least, this stuff of accusations should not become a headline of any newspaper or a topic of some talk-show.I really feel shamed having such political leaders in my country.A full range of politicians is accused of such allegations. It is my request to the independent media of Pakistan that it should avoid such debris to be a part national stream news because it casts a very negative impact on our national stature as a state.
