KJo calls friendship with SRK, Kajol 'a lifetime bond'

Film-maker is grateful for it

It sure seemed like that Karan Johar was in a nostalgic mood yesterday as he shared pictures of all the important people in his life, starting with his twins Yash and Roohi and his mother Hiroo Johar.

But, there was one post which caught everyone’s attention the most. It was a picture of the ace film-maker with actors Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol with a caption that read, "Lifetime bonds!!!!"



It's no big secret that the trio has been friends for the longest time. But around the time when Karan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay were releasing, there was a fallout between the former and Kajol. And it was Shah Rukh that Karan first called after that, reported Pinkvilla.

In his autobiography An Unsuitable Boy, the My Name Is Khan director has written, "When I had a falling out with Kajol, the first call I made was to Shah Rukh. He came to meet me and spoke about it to me. My first instinct was to call Shah Rukh although he had nothing to do with the problem. But I still called him because somewhere, Shah Rukh, Kajol and I have been so close."

About Shah Rukh, Karan added, "When two people are so close, when they’ve done six films together but haven't worked together on a set for a while… there is bound to be a gap. That is the way the industry is. Shah Rukh is a very possessive person. He is a possessive friend. I think I may have hurt him when I made a film without him. And I think I got hurt because when I did, I felt he didn't give me that paternal or fraternal feeling that I had from him otherwise. I think we were two hurt friends for no reason."

Coming back to Karan’s fallout with Kajol, it seems like with this latest post, both artists have finally let the bygones be bygones. In fact, as per a leading magazine, they are back to being friends again.

Apparently, it all happened when Kajol was fed up of all the fighting and texted Karan to invite him to her birthday party. The latter happily acknowledged her efforts and attended the party. As soon as they saw each other, they hugged and started talking like long lost friends.



Recently, KJo shared the first official picture of his twin babies on Instagram and Kajol liked it instantly. Thereafter, Karan started following her on Instagram too.

It must be noted that Karan, Shah Rukh and Kajol have worked in numerous films together, most of which – like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – have gone on to become some of Bollywood’s most successful offerings. Let’s hope we get to see the terrific trio recreate the magic soon.
