MULTAN: An enforcement team of the Multan Development Authority (MDA) on Wednesday carried out an operation in the city and demolished illegally constructed shops and business places.

Spokesman for Multan Development Authority said the team comprising Deputy Director Enforcement Rana Tauqir Elahi, Deputy Director Town Planning Shahid Anwar Majeed, Assistant Director Enforcement Ikram Aziz Baloch, Building Inspector Main Iqbal, Muhammad Shabbir and field staff conducted the operation under the supervision of Senior Special Judicial Magistrate Farooq Qamar Kamboh.

The team sealed commercial plaza Pace n Pace on violation of building bylaws but de-sealed it later after owners produced the stay orders issued by the court.

The team demolished a boundary wall of a private college at northern bypass near Chowk Syedan Wala, a hotel owned by Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Aslam at Nangana Chowk and a car workshop and showroom at Ghausul Azam road.
