Sandra Bullock donates $1 million to help victims of Hurricane Harvey

While the catastrophic Hurricane Harvey that hit the US this week has claimed many deaths and other casualties, celebs have been quick with their efforts at community service to help  victims in Texas. One such star, Sandra Bullock, has categorically been actively helping victims.

Hurricane Harvey makes landfall in Texas

According to a report by PEOPLE, the  Red Cross relief effort confirmed that the Miss Congeniality star donated $ 1 million to  the relief effort.

“This is an incredible gift. We’re so thankful. It’s times like this when we do receive such an incredible amount of support. Especially during times of disaster, people see what’s happening in Texas and our hearts all go out to them,” the reports quoted Elizabeth Penniman, Vice President of Communications for American Red Cross national headquarters as saying.

“Having someone like Sandra make this kind of commitment helps bring people together and open their hearts and be even more generous,” she added.

Sandra has long been a supporter of the American Red Cross.The compassionate actor is not just proactively participating in the relief of the victims but also encouraging others to make charity and come forward to help.

“There are no politics in eight feet of water,” the star said, hoping the the crises caused by the disaster will bring the rather polarized Americans together.
