Three Punjab cities get free WiFi hotspots
Talking to The Express Tribune, Dr Saif said that the Punjab Forensic Science Agency and other law enforcement agencies were looking into the case and facts of the investigations would be shared soon. On Monday, police also visited the crime scene. The incident took place on Sunday in which no one was hurt because it was a day off and the office was empty.
An official of the PITB said that there was no high rise building near the PITB building. Terming it a threatening message, he said that it was not a coincidence that the bullet hit Saif’s office in a 17-story building that had hundreds of other offices.

He added that Dr Saif had also received threats a few times. The PITB has been playing an important role in digitalisation of police department, land records and other departments of the Punjab government, he said, adding that the IT initiatives have targeted criminals, terrorists and also hampered interests of different departments.
“They have informed the law enforcement agencies that were investigating the matter and further investigations would ascertain the facts,” he maintained.
Dr Saif, along with his team members, was in Dubai on Sunday as Dubai police had sought their help for replicating their IT initiatives introduced for digitalisation of the Punjab Police Department.
