Kashmiri leaders oppose BJP plans to change demographic position of IoK

'Kashmir is a political dispute and must be resolved through peaceful means'

World Kashmiri leaders met in Belgium to adopt a joint strategy to oppose Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) plan to make an amendment in the Indian Constitution so that the demographic position of Indian occupied Kashmir can be changed, reported Radio Pakistan.

“It is a conspiracy by India to change population ratio in IHK and it is against International norms, we will move against this evil plan,” said Chairman Kashmir Council European Union Ali Raza Syed while addressing a seminar in Brussels.

“India not only prevented the basic democratic rights including right to self-determination of the people of Kashmir while it has also prohibited the freedom of expression and free travel and movement of the people,” he further added.

The international community, especially the European Union has been urged to play their role in order to prevent India’s malicious plans.

“Kashmir is a political dispute and must be resolved through peaceful means,” said Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, while talking to different delegations in Pahalgam.

He even criticised Narendra Modi’s way of dealing with the Kashmir dispute as it will have serious repercussions.
