Hours after separatists stormed a police facility in a pre-dawn attack in occupied Kashmir leaving eight dead, Indian forces killed three youth during a siege and search operation early on Sunday, Kashmir Media Service reported.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Inspector General of Police Munir Khan said three burnt bodies were found from the Police Lines area in Pulwama district.

On Saturday, freedom fighters, believed to be three in number, detonated grenades and fired automatic assault rifles to gain entry to a police headquarters in southern Pulwama district which also houses families of some officers, director general of police SP Vaid said.

Authorities cut off mobile internet services in the district to prevent residents from organising protest rallies.
