ISLAMABAD: Dan Rohrmann took charge as the new representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) in Pakistan on Wednesday. Rohrmann will now be leading the Unicef team and takeover the fund’s programmes for rehabilitation of children and women affected by the floods last year. He will also oversee Unicef’s programmes in health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education and child protection, as part of the UN Delivering as One Programme.  Rohrmann has worked in a number of UN agencies and, prior to his current assignment in Pakistan, Rohrmann was responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance for Unicef’s global programmes, said a news release. “I am truly excited to be leading Unicef’s important work in Pakistan. I feel I have been warmly welcomed since my arrival. It is an honour to work for children in Pakistan, including those most vulnerable and disadvantaged,” said Rohrmann.
