Capacity Expansion: PMDC installing new plants

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is in the process of installing new plants for salt grinding, gypsum powder and plaster of paris at Warcha salt mines to increase its production capacity, official sources said on Monday. A gravel stone project is also being initiated at Kahuta, Rawalpindi, the sources added. The PMDC has produced around 4.07 million tons of salt and 1.6 million tons of coal from its mines operating in different parts of the country during the last three years. Answering a question, they said the corporation contributed taxes and dividends of Rs2.183 billion to the national exchequer during this three-year period.

rustam | 7 years ago | Reply PMDC should pay attention to market its products optimally. The salt produced my PMDC is sold in western and Gulf countries at 5-6 times price with the names of Himalayan Salt and Indian Salt.
