In a statement issued on Monday, Irfan Qaiser said that people should be made aware of the fact that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will not only bring industry to Pakistan, but also create job opportunities for locals.
CPEC will allow Pakistan to become global leader
“There is a dire need to create a workforce and industries to fulfil the future needs of employment,” he said. “This workforce should meet international standards so that it can avail such opportunities/”
Qaiser further stated that TEVTA will start 10 to 15 more courses in the fields of hospitality, construction and mechanics. “The authority had already started HTV driving courses which will provide a monthly income of Rs80,000 to an individual.” He added that after CPEC, there will be an increase in the demand of heavy vehicle drivers.
The TEVTA chairman explained the hospitality sector was already in focus as trainers from Sri Lanka were educating students the students in this field. Similarly, in order to meet the increasing demand of Mandarin language, a second and third shift was kicked off across Punjab, he said.
'CPEC changing country's destiny'
Qaiser stated that the authority wished to double the number of women students in all courses and necessary arrangements were being made in this regard. He added IT courses were started in collaboration with Microsoft and had achieved outstanding results/ “It will be extended to facilitate more students.”
