BAHAWALPUR: Islamia University Bahawalpur Vice-Chancellor Dr Qaiser Mushtaq inaugurated construction work on a housing scheme for teachers at Baghdadul Jadeed campus which will be constructed at a cost of Rs148 million.

The housing complex will consist of 16 units of category C and 22 residential units of category D. On the occasion, the vice-chancellor said there was a dire need of residential houses in the university for teachers and officials.

He added for the last 8 years, not even a single house was constructed in the university. He directed the officials to complete the project in the given time frame and stressed the need to use high standard material in the construction work.

In the last two-and-a-half years, mega projects worth Rs1,470 million were completed at Islamia University. However, some of the projects in Rahim Yar Khan’s Bahawalnagar Campus and Agriculture College were pending since 2007.

Apart from the said projects, study park for female students was also established which was the first of its kind in the district.
