Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will address a public meeting in Multan "within 10 days" as part of the campaign against his ouster from power by the top court, the party has decided.

In the meeting held in Lahore, it was decided that following the Grand Trunk Road rally, the campaign against Nawaz's ouster will be expanded to other cities and provinces, Express News quoted sources as saying.

The participants rejected the idea of using the GT Road for the Multan rally, saying there were security risks in opting for the route.

Nawaz challenges disqualification verdict in top court

Those in attendance also agreed to begin consultation with other party leaders on the ongoing campaign.

The apex court’s five-judge larger bench had unanimously disqualified Nawaz due to his failure to disclose his ‘un-withdrawn receivables, constituting assets’ in his nomination papers filed ahead of the 2013 general elections.
