Heritage and architecture
With its rich history, Pakistan is home to a number of historic monuments and ancient structures. Grand entrances of historic mosques, cascading domes, arched corridors and intricately tiled walls are all part of Pakistan’s architectural treasure trove.
Music
From Sufi and Qawali legends like Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Parveen, to the multi lingual genius Madam Noor Jehan, Pakistan boasts endless talent in the music industry. On the other hand, we’ve had our very own version of pop/rock boy bands including Junoon, Strings and Vital Signs!
Truck Art
Truck art is becoming a global phenomenon and we love that it is a home-grown art. Trucks and lorries adorned with decorations and bright coloured sculpted metal are considered moving pieces of art in the international world. International designers have also taken inspiration from this art form. Yay for us!
Humour in every possible situation
Whether our talk shows are getting out of control or whether we’re losing to India in a match of cricket, we aren’t afraid of pointing fingers at ourselves. We have the ability to find humour in almost every situation, and of course, there’s a meme for everything!
Spectacular nature
With its towering mountains, breathtaking scenery and stunning landscapes, Pakistan is a spectacular tourist destination. It is also home to some of the most beautiful lakes, forests, glaciers and endangered species.
Tantalising Cuisine
I think we can all agree that we truly do have the most delectable dishes. There’s no doubt about it.
Edhi Foundation
The Edhi Foundation has held the Guinness World Record for running the largest ambulance service in the world. During his time, Edhi went above and beyond to serve the nation and its people. Kudos to you Edhi sahab.
Fashion
The Pakistan fashion industry has gone global! With some of our designers making their way onto international ramps, our fashion industry is gaining momentum across the fashion world. Cheers to everyone promoting our country’s talent in the international market.
Cricket
We are a nation obsessed with cricket! And we still don’t understand why it isn’t our national sport. Cricket is truly something which unites us as a nation, and in a fragmented society, cricket brings happiness to us all.
Pakola
Let’s face it, there’s nothing better than an ice cold bottle of Pakola to quench your thirst on a hot summer’s day!
Our people
We’ve all seen this sight before. Very seldom do we Pakistanis abide by the rules and most often, we make our own. Needless to say, we get by!
Peshawari chappals
Long live our Peshawari chappals! Our traditional footwear has made a mark internationally and has inspired high-end designers such as Manolo Blahnik and Paul Smith. These beauties are as much a part of our national identity as chicken tikka.
