Boy crushed to death by Elite Force vehicle in Nawaz Sharif's convoy

Published: August 11, 2017

A nine-year-old boy was crushed to death by an Elite Force vehicle which was part of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ‘home-going rally’ on Friday.

Hamid, resident of Lala Mosa, Gujarat was killed when the car in the convoy hit him, police said.

The father of the child fainted as soon as he saw his son’s body lying on the road, Express News reported. According to eyewitnesses, Hamid was standing near the roadside when the vehicle hit him.

Despite the incident, the motorcade did not stop and sped away. Passersby took the boy to the nearest hospital but he could not survive.

Meanwhile, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar termed the loss a “sacrifice for Pakistan.”

Opposition questions use of resources for Nawaz’s rally

“Millions of people rendered sacrifices during Pakistan’s creation [too],” he said and added. “He was our child; if he joined [the rally meant] for Pakistan, [then] God bless him.”

PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique expressed grief on Hamid’s death by the motorcade and said party’s leaders will arrive at his house to condole on the loss. He went on to add that “the boy was the first martyr of our movement.”

Later, chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the incident, saying it was regrettable that vehicles in the former PM’s convoy had hit and killed the boy.

Case registered

A case has been registered against unidentified persons at Gujarat city police station on the request of the slain child’s uncle. According to the report, the recklessly driven car hit the child and killed him.

Nawaz is leading a rally to Lahore as part of a campaign against his ouster by the top court in the Panama Papers case. According to the PML-N leader, his disqualification by the Supreme Court was an insult to millions of people who had voted for him.

The father sacrificed his son for 5,000. What a shame. He should’ve kept him at home, away from all this nonsense.Recommend

An FIR should be registered against Nawaz Sharif, Khwaja Saad Rafiquei and Capt Safdar who told the motorcade to drive in high speed, They should also be charged for Hit and Run as they did not stop to care of the dying child..Recommend

We would rather see Safdar talk the talk and walk the walk by way of making his big sacrifice for Pakistan than this little boy.Recommend

Mr. Khawaja & Capt. Safdar, you need to know the meaning of “Sacrifice”. If this is what you call “Sacrifice”, then you all first shall be lined-up and sacrifice in same way for the sake of democracy & Pakistan.Recommend

Spoken like true politicians Mr Safdar, Khawaja Rafique etc .You killed a little boy with your motorcade not taking precautions to drive carefully through crowded areas out of sheer negligence. To cover up your misdeed you declare him a ‘martyr’. Murder is not martyrdom but being PMLN how would you know the difference? Utterly condemnableRecommend

@CharlieChapatti: “Hold on a second. Someone was run over and killed and it’s just glossed over as a ‘sacrifice’?”

Yes that’s Pakistan for you. Now the PMNL would offer the parents some money (aka “blood money”) and this whole incident would be brushed under the carpet. Recommend
