Says govt is using tactics to harass her because she raised a voice against injustice

Ayesha Ahad Malik, who claims to be the wife of Hamza Shehbaz, has said Rana Sanaullah will be responsible if anything happens to her.

She made this claim as a district and sessions court was hearing her harassment petition on Tuesday. She said the provincial government was using different tactics to harass her because she raised a voice against injustice.

“If anything happen to me or my family, Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah will be responsible because police officials are not only harassing me, but also posing threats and chasing me when I leave my house, ”she claimed in her harassment petition which was being heard by the judge.



The petitioner said she was threatened by police officials and they were doing so on the orders of Rana Sanaullah. She alleged police officials in uniform and some in plainclothes were seen outside her house. The petitioner claimed she was chased on several occasions and this caused her much stress.


“I hail from a respectable family and tied the knot with Hamza Shehbaz in 2010 for which litigation is pending in court.” Ayesha claimed that on August 6, 2017, Sanaullah made a statement in the electronic and print media against her to “please his friend” Hamza Shehbaz. She added that a legal notice was served to the law minister for this action, while an application at the police station.

In her petition, Ayesha told the court that on August 7, she was going to her lawyer’s office when she observed some armed people chasing her on Shami Road. “I saw same people outside my house.”



She said Rana Sanaullah was behind it all. “Sanaullah is misusing his power and the state machinery to illegally harass me and my family.”

She requested the court to direct the CCPO Lahore and SP Cantt not to harass her and her family members. The petitioner requested the court to make arrangements for her security. The judge sought a report from SHO South Cantt by August 9.
