At least one woman was killed and another injured as Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian forces violated the ceasefire in Khuiratta and Karela sectors.
While the martyr belonged to the Karela sector, the injured was from Khuiratta.
In response to the provocation, the statement added, Pakistan Army engaged in retaliatory firing by targeting Indian posts.
Both sides routinely accuse each other of violating the 2003 ceasefire agreement along the LoC. However, it is impossible to verify claims from either side due to lack of access to the heavily militarised zone.
