‘Spray in cattle markets essential to control Congo Virus’  

Commissioner Momin Agha stressed the need for launching awareness campaign on large scale to avoid spread of the virus

FAISALABAD: Commissioner Momin Agha has directed the administration of four districts of the division to take effective steps for controlling Congo Virus. He said, “Animals should not be allowed to enter the jurisdiction of the division without proper clearance.”

He expressed these views while presiding a meeting to review Eidul Azha arrangements in the division. Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, Additional Commissioner Mahr Shafqatullah Mushtaq, Livestok Director Dr Muhammad Nawaz Malik and other officials were present on the occasion.

The commissioner directed the livestock department officers to chalk out a comprehensive plan to examine sacrificial animals and ensure spray in animal markets. He stressed the need for launching awareness campaign on large scale to avoid spread of Congo Virus.

Agha directed the officials that necessary facilities should be provided at temporary sale points for the facility of buyers and sellers of sacrificial animals.
