The commanders, who were identified as Hali alias Jahaz and Rafiq alias Aamir and four other militants, handed over their weapons to Colonel Ali Saeed and other officials of the Frontier Corps in a ceremony held at Gwadar on Sunday.
“We have decided to end our armed struggle against the state and join mainstream politics to serve our people who are facing difficulties due to the war-like situation in our area,” Rafiq alias Aamir said while handing over his weapons to the security officials. They belong to Baloch Liberation Front (BLF).
Two rebel commanders surrender
He said that he and the other militants who laid down their weapons would remain loyal to the state and government.
Colonel Ali Saeed welcomed the decision of the militant commanders and said they would be provided complete security as well as jobs.
The government would also give them financial assistance for their rehabilitation.
Four other militants who surrendered before the security officials include Nawaz alias Kia, Faiz alias Koh- Perawarish, Balaach and Mero alias Meerak.
Six submachine guns, hand grenades, hundreds of rounds of different calibre and other weapons were handed over to the authorities during the ceremony.
