Petitioner Pari Gul Agha, who is Basharat’s wife, recorded her statement before the judge. She contended that Seemal Kamran claimed she had tied the knot with Basharat, but that was not the case in reality.
She told the judge that the accused damaged the reputation of her husband in the eyes of the public by pretending to be Raja Basharat’s wife.
She told the court that the accused made threatening calls and used derogatory language against her. Pari Gul said the respondent asked her for Rs50 million to leave the country.
The petitioner contended she had phone recordings in which Seemal not only posed death threats, but also used derogatory language.
She told the judge that Seemal claimed Raja Basharat had divorced the petitioner in 2014 and the latter subsequently married to the former law minister. Pari Gul alleged that Seema prepared forged documents, while Basharat denied that he had married the former MPA.
The judge, after recording cursory statements of both Pari Gull Agha and her secretary Ashiq Hussain, fixed August 15 as the date for further arguments.
